1. Information We Collect
When you use our network diagnostic tools, we may automatically collect and temporarily store the following information for security and anti-abuse purposes:
- Your public IP address.
- The date and time of your request.
- The specific tool used (e.g., Ping, WHOIS) and the target parameters submitted (e.g., the domain or IP you queried).
2. How We Use This Information
The collected diagnostic data is used strictly for:
- Enforcing rate limits to prevent server overload.
- Detecting and mitigating automated bots, DDoS attacks, and network abuse.
- Troubleshooting internal system errors.
3. Data Retention and Minimization
We believe in data minimization. Diagnostic logs and IP addresses are retained only for a short period (typically 7 to 15 days) solely for security auditing. After this rolling period, they are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers.
4. Third-Party Sharing
We do NOT sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your usage data to outside parties. We do not use third-party advertising trackers on our tool pages. We may disclose temporary logs to law enforcement agencies only if strictly required by a valid legal subpoena.
5. Local Storage & Cookies
Quib.dev uses minimal browser local storage strictly for functional purposes (for example, to remember your "Recently Used Tools" so they appear on your homepage). We do not use tracking cookies for targeted advertising.
